How to scan a barcode online

  1. Choose Scan with camera, upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image, or paste an image with Ctrl+V.
  2. Keep the complete barcode sharp, well lit and inside the frame. Avoid glare across the bars or code modules.
  3. Copy the decoded value or open it in the generator when you need to recreate and print the barcode.

If the barcode cannot be read

  • Crop the image so the barcode occupies more of the frame.
  • Use the original photo instead of a compressed screenshot.
  • Photograph the label straight on and remove reflections or motion blur.
  • Keep the blank quiet zone on both sides of a linear barcode visible.
